You may remember a few months back I mentioned something about working on a short film. Well, that film finally premiered at the 168 Film Festival in Glendale, Ca this month, alongside 151 other amazing films from all over the world! The name of our film is ReMoved, and it’s about a little girl’s emotional journey through the foster care system. Apparently it’s pretty good because we won Best Film!! The grand prize? Up to a million dollar budget for a feature film! Pretty cool right?! And not only did we win Best Film, we also won the Audience Choice award, Best Editor, and Best Hair & Make-up.
Needless to say, it was a pretty awesome night getting our photos taken on the red carpet, hearing from presenters like Stephen Baldwin, Candace Cameron-Bure, and Kerri Pomarolli, and best of all, seeing everyone’s hard work come together on the big screen! There were so many incredible films entered into the contest, it’s still surreal to me that ours came out on top. A tremendous thank you goes out to Nathanael & Christina Matanick for having such a beautiful vision for this film, and for letting me be even a small part of it. The entire cast and crew of ReMoved are some of the most talented people I have ever had the privilege of working with.
With that said, here are some photos I snapped while working on the film. Enjoy!
ReMoved is still being submitted to other film festivals, so it won’t be online for awhile. Until then, you can watch the trailer here, or visit the ReMoved Facebook page to find out when the next private screening will be!
