Home Sweet Home

I snapped this photo last night as my husband and I made our way back to Santa Barbara after spending the weekend in our hometown, Coalinga, CA. Coalinga is quaintly nestled in the middle of nowhere and the last leg of the drive is always spent cruising through endless foothills with nothing but dirt and yellow grass as far as the eye can see. I know a lot of people would find dirt and dried grass extremely unattractive, but I think it’s absolutely beautiful. Maybe it’s because it’s a sign that I’m close to home and so many of the people that I love most, but I think the quiet untouched landscape, with fields that stretch out across California for miles is nothing short of majestic.
